Eldorado East Ridge
Eldorado's East Ridge is one of the Northwest's most classic climbs with moderate glacier travel ending in an airy knife-edge summit ridge. Located in the heart of the North Cascades, the views are hard to beat and is a great introduction to glacier mountaineering and climbing moderately steep snow for those bold enough to tackle the steep approach trail.
Scheduled: $1125 Custom $1125 - $1950

Here’s What To Expect

Itinerary

Day 1: After gear check, we'll drive Cascade River Road into North Cascades National Park and the Eldorado Trailhead. Right off the bat, we'll get thrown into the thick of it with a creek crossing before a steep ascent with heavy packs up the climber's trail. This is often the most difficult day for folks. The first campsites available appear around 5,400' with the high camp at around 7,800' (an almost 6,000' of elevation gain from the car). After getting to one of these camps, we'll eat dinner and go to sleep early to rest up for the summit day.

Day 2: We'll get up early and make our summit attempt! The route ascends the southern most edge of the Inspiration Glacier until reaching the airy, knife-edge ridge to the summit. After taking in the views, we'll reverse the route back to camp where there will be much rejoicing.

Day 3: We'll wake up more casually than previous days to pack up camp and make the trek back down the climber's trail to the cars. The cool creek crossing to douse hot feet in is a welcome site at the end of such a long descent. After some gear shuffling, you'll be on your way to whatever comfort food you dreamt up on the walk down. Folks can plan to be back in town by late afternoon.

Trip Reviews
“I have skied with all of the guides at CMA and have had great experiences. They are passionate about their craft, and it shows in the experiences they provide. They know where to find the best skiing and have extensive knowledge of the local terrain.”

They do the essentials really well: they’re professional, knowledgeable and competent, great teachers, and always keep an eye on safety as every guide service must. What sets them apart for me is that they do all that AND make it FUN. Some of the best times I’ve ever had in the mountains are with this crew. I highly recommend them!”

I hired this guide crew for technical education and then returned for their recreational guiding services. I’ll continue to lean on Cascade Mountain Ascents to bring me further into the backcountry and advance my technical skills in the mountains.”

Zack and Cascade Mountain Ascents is the best choice for your adventure no matter your skill level. From beginner to seasoned pro, Zack has you covered. His knowledge and skills of all-terrain and mountain situations had us feeling safe and confident all the way.”
