Everything you've heard about the pristine powder playgrounds of Hokkaido, Japan is true. Embark on an exhilarating ten-day guided ski trip with AMGA Certified Ski Guides through some of the region's most coveted ski spots.  With a perfect blend of powder skiing, soothing onsens, and mouthwatering ramen, this guided ski trip promises an unforgettable adventure in the winter wonderland of Hokkaido, Japan.

Here’s What To Expect

Itinerary

Day 0: In mid-February, guests and guides will fly to Sapporo, Japan. After a gear check, the crew will pack up into rental vans and spend the night in Sapporo for the evening.

Day 1-4: The crew will wake up early and drive a few hours south to Niseko. There, you will spend four days exploring the terrain around Niseko. From the gloriously long fall line skiing through white bark birch on the slopes of Yotei, to the lift assisted backcountry skiing on Annapuri, there's a lot to do! After exhilarating days skiing and riding, unwind and rejuvenate in traditional Japanese onsets (hot springs), where natural mineral-rich waters provide the perfect remedy for tired muscles.

Day 5: After packing everything back in the vans, you will have a traveling rest day as you relocate north of Furano for the second half of the trip. On the way north, you'll stop in Sapporo to visit the legendary Ramen Alley for lunch and explore the vast outdoor walking malls.

Day 6-9: For the latter part of the trip, you'll be based in a location with multiple different venues within an hour drive to allow for flexibility to chase the best available snow & conditions available. With access to everything from the high alpine of Asahidake and its volcanic steam-vents, to steep glades and open alpine bowls, this part of the trip can easily be tailored to fit the crew's goals and the conditions.

Day 10: Like all good things... this trip must also come to an end. We'll wake up early and travel back south to Sapporo to catch flights back home.

Scheduled Programs

Scheduled Programs are open to all to sign up for. These programs are charged a flat rate per person, regardless of the number of people on your booking. This flat rate is often the same as the 3:1 per person rate. Scheduled programs tend to be more cost effective for groups of one or two people, and allow you to connect with other people with similar mountain interests and skill sets.

Technical Programs

Cascade Mountain Ascents pays guides more when they are working in terrain that is more involved or poses higher objective hazard. Therefore, a surcharge is added to trips we deem Challenging ($100) and Complex ($200). A custom surcharge may apply to non-standard programs and will be worked out by the guide and administrative staff along with the guest(s) during program design. At Cascade Mountain Ascents, we believe that everyone deserves access to safe and joyful mountain experiences, regardless of their financial circumstances.  That's why we are excited to introduce our income-based program rates.  These rates are designed to pay it forward and create structural mechanisms for mitigating financial barriers to the outdoors. They currently only apply to our Affinity Programs. Irrespective of the tier you choose, 10% of all proceeds from the program will be directly allocated to CMA's Scholarship Program.

Standard Rate+: This tier is the standard cost of the program in the absence of payment tier options. In choosing this tier, you are covering your program expenses, contributing to the sustainability of our payment tier program, and financially supporting the development of future affinity programs.
